Overview
Newsmakers is a series of biographies of individuals who are quite well known and about whom information is widely available in newspapers and magazines but not in reference books. The publication also includes people who are less well known but who, because of the importance or interesting nature of their activities, are currently in the news and are deserving of wide coverage.
Newsmakers contains entries on people who are active in business, entertainment, politics, sports, technology, writing, and other fields. Plus, there is a separate obituary section with concise profiles of recently deceased newsmakers.
Newsmakers is purchased for school libraries and public libraries.
Newsmakers features biographies on people who may not be in reference books. It can contain the "hip" type of people that young students are interested in reading about.
