The journals of the House of Burgesses are daily records of the proceedings of Virginia's elected lower house--reports, petitions, orders, declarations, and other papers covering such colonial problems as defense, agriculture, the slave trade, and education. This microfilm publication reproduces the thirteen volume letterpress edition prepared by John Pendleton Kennedy and Henry Read McIlwaine, and published by the Virginia State Library in 500 numbered sets between 1905 and 1915.
