This book will give readers a deeper perspective on the communist controversy in Hollywood, showing that the CPUSA was active in trying to establish a foothold in the motion picture industry. It will show that the resultant "issue" was not the creation of publicity seeking politicians, nor the illusion of paranoid scaremongers. Finally, it will take a much closer look at the "Hollywood Ten" and tell the readers who they actually were, as opposed to the incomplete biographical sketches that we now have.
